MANSA Annual General Meeting & Dr Mahadhir’s Talk

MANSA had its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 27 April 2019 at Bangi Guest House, Kajang.

A fruitful discussion was done in the AGM with the contribution from our members such as the update on AHP act and sneak peek on MASCO 2020. The President presented a report which includes the activities done and involved by MANSA since the last AGM. We also discussed on the future activities by MANSA. We appreciate the feedback from everyone and looking forward to drive the society and profession forward.
We would also like to convey a special thanks to Dr Mahadir Ahmad, for an informative talk on “Delivering Effective Counseling for Clinician”.

Some take-home messages from Dr.Mahadir’s talk:
  • clear your cognitive load after seeing a patient, before the next.
  •  non-verbal language matters.
  • refer to counsellor or psychologist if it is beyond your capability.

Audiologist Learning Mandarin to Communicate with Chinese Patients

“Uncle ah, aunty ah, ting, ting, an”. This sentence resonated with a lot of audiologists working in Malaysia, a diverse cultural population. Our audiologist, Natasha Ismail started learning Mandarin since 2015, in order to better serve the elderly Chinese population. Thumbs up for the effort and keep up the spirit Natasha.

By the way, what’s the result of the singing competition?
