This year’s MANSA AGM is an electoral AGM held in conjunction with the 5th edition of the Malaysian Audiology Scientific Conference (MASCO 2018) . Few matters were discussed in details to promote a healthier organisational administration and progress. The highlights were the new office bearer for session 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. The new office bearers are as below.

Another new milestone was created on 2nd May 2018!
#MANSA signed an MoU with #BookDoc, a mobile application that connects patients with medical care professionals. Started in 2015, #BookDoc is the first healthcare online platform in Malaysia that provides such services.
This collaboration is for the purpose of benefiting all #MANSA members who would like to market their services through this platform. In the future, #BookDoc will also consult #MANSA for the purpose of validating registered audiologists (practitioners) parallel to the requirements set by the AHP Act. #MANSA also hopes to be part of their continuous healthcare awareness events and have more working partnership with #BookDoc in creating more public awareness in regards to hearing health care.

A total of 56 audiologists attended the AHP Act Consultation Session on 23rd April 2018 at Auditorium Hospital Rehabilitasi Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
This consultation session was organised by the AHP Act Audiology Profession Committee in order to gather the audiologists in Malaysia to share their inputs in regards to the implementation of the AHP Act 774.
Mr. Mohamed Asri Bin Abd. Rahman, Timbalan Pengarah BSKB and Secretariat of MAHPC (Malaysian Allied Health Profession Council), gave an opening speech and the overview of this Act.
Mr. Saravanakumar a/l Maniam, Ketua Penolong Pengarah BSKB and Secretariat of MAHPC gave the introduction about the AHP Act 774, as well as the objectives of the acts.
Madam Siti Suriani, Ketua Profesion Audiologi KKM and Chairperson of the AHP Act Audiology Profession Committee presented some important aspects of the Regulations within this Act.

We had a Q&A session to clarify on our doubts and inquiries. Indeed, we benefited from this session as we now have a better understanding on the AHP Act 774.
For those who had attended the session, we would appreciate if you can share the session outcome with your colleagues/audiologists who could not make it to the session.

The Allied Health Professions Act 774 was gazetted in February 2016. We are currently at the stage of consultation and stakeholder’s engagement. In preparation for the upcoming enforcement of the Act, the Audiology Profession Committee was formed in 2015 and consist of representatives from the Ministry of Health, universities, private sectors and professional bodies.On behalf of the Audiology Profession Committee, we therefore require your esteemed opinion/feedback/comment on the regulations and standards that has been developed. The Ida Institute Research Committee announced that they are accepting proposals for research projects investigating outcomes of the use of Ida tools. Research grants will be awarded to projects that “develop evidence related to Ida Institute methods and tools and aim to demonstrate the effect of person-centered care in hearing rehabilitation.”
The Ida Institute tools and resources are designed to support continued professional development in person-centered care in audiology and the operationalization of person-centeredcare in clinical practice.
